ESRC-funded PhD scholarships are available to all national and international students and PhD students in the field of social sciences at the University of Reading.

For international applicants being considered for a SeNSS scholarship, the University of Reading will provide the difference in tuition fees between the home country fee and the international fee.

Eligibility Requirements:

To qualify for PhD programmes, the successful candidate(s) generally need a minimum of 2.1 degree higher or equivalent plus a Master’s degree, related to the subject of the intended PhD programme.

For some university fields, including arts and humanities, social sciences and business, candidates are usually accepted to study for a doctoral degree only after completing a master’s degree.
